FRISCO ADMINISTERS 7,800 VACCINE DOSES IN 4 DAYS; VACCINE HUB AT STONEBRIAR CENTRE CLOSED BEGINNING FEB. 6 UNTIL MORE VACCINE ALLOCATED
(February 5, 2021) The City of Frisco administered its entire vaccine allocation of 7,800 doses in four days, February 2 – 5. At this time, the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) has not allocated additional vaccine to our city for next week. As a result, Frisco’s Vaccine Hub at Stonebriar Centre will be closed beginning Saturday, February 6. In the meantime, Frisco’s Vaccine Team will be working to improve processes and remains ready to distribute more vaccine when made available. Thank you for your understanding. Stay healthy and thank you for spreading kindness, not the virus. For more information visit friscotexas.gov/vaccine

FRISCO VACCINE HUB OPEN TO ADMINISTER 7,800 DOSES
(February 3, 2021) The City of Frisco’s vaccine hub is open and administering its 7,800 doses allocated by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). Vaccine recipients must have an appointment. The City of Frisco’s vaccine hub opened on February 2 at noon. A total of 953 doses were administered the first day.
Online registration now opens to the public during evening hours after everyone with a daytime appointment is served. Appointments are currently serving people who are eligible under Phase 1A (PDF) and 1B (PDF). Appointments are limited and will be available on a first come, served basis. Visit www.FriscoTexas.gov/vaccine during evening hours to register. People will only be allowed inside the ‘hub’ when their appointment time is being served.
Located inside Stonebriar Centre mall, in space once occupied by a department store, Frisco employees have transformed the space into a vaccine facility on track to serve more than 2,700 doses today.
Lead by the Frisco Fire Department and its Emergency Management Division, all city departments are involved in the site’s development and operation.
“We’re very proud of our team,” said Chief Mark Piland, Frisco Fire Department. “We assembled an internal Vaccine Team back in January and we’ve been preparing for this job since then. Our operational vaccine team is represented by all city departments and we’re happy to share we’ve been able to serve people in about 20 – 30 minutes. But, we’re also mindful of the need to be flexible and we’re constantly working to improve our process.”
Representatives from the Toyota Production System Support Center, based in Plano, are onsite daily – observing operations and making suggestions about ways to improve customer service and workflow.
“I can’t think of anything more important than helping to keep our greater community healthy,” said Mayor Jeff Cheney. “When we planned for this site, we envisioned being here for the long haul. We want to help as many people as possible. We’re hopeful we’ll receive more vaccines next week so we can continue to do our part to get Texans vaccinated.”
On Monday, Frisco received approximately 3,000 names from the Collin County waitlist. Those people were alerted when Frisco opened its online registration.
Frisco’s online registration process collects a majority of the information required to be delivered to the state after a vaccination is administered.
“Our process is different,” said Mayor Cheney. “Since the required information doesn’t have to be collected onsite, Frisco’s process enables the actual vaccination process to happen very quickly and the lines move faster because much of the required information has already been collected."
